Hollywood once again chooses Tenerife for the filming of a blockbuster

The filming of 'Wonder Woman' confirms the excellent qualities of Tenerife as a film set. The president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, highlights the positive effects that this Hollywood blockbuster will have on the promotion and economy of the island.

Tenerife will be again filming scene of a blockbuster from Hollywood. To titles like Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans o Fast & Furious 6 A new delivery of Wonder Woman. Produced by Warner Bros and under the title Wonder Woman 1984 It will be filmed on the island in the coming weeks.

The president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, highlights that with this filming “the excellent qualities of Tenerife as a set for recording audiovisual productions are confirmed.”

Alonso adds that “among the reasons for selecting the Island for this filming, which will have important positive effects both on our promotion and the economy, are the conditions and natural scenes of Tenerife and tax incentives that are available to national and international production companies." The president recalls that in addition to the professionals who travel for the recording, "expenses for accommodation, food and transportation, the hiring of extras or the purchases of material must be taken into account."

La parte del rodaje que se realizará en Tenerife se localizará en diferentes zonas de Isla Baja, entre la última semana de septiembre y la primera de octubre. La película vuelve a estar protagonizada por Gal Gadot, y contará en la dirección con Patty Jenkins, primera mujer en dirigir una gran superproducción. Completan el reparto principal Kristen Wiig, quien encarnará a la villana principal de la película, Cheetah; y Chris Pine, que retoma su papel como Steve Trevor.

“La labor desarrollada por la Tenerife Film Commission ha sido clave en el hecho de que la Isla acoja este rodaje gracias al asesoramiento prestado a la productora así como el trabajo desempeñado en la gestión de permisos”, añade Carlos Alonso. Sur Film es la productora local que presta servicios de apoyo y que cuenta con gran experiencia en este tipo de rodajes.
