The deployment of this agile infrastructure is an essential component in the complete modernization of the main audiovisual control room of the French National Assembly, including connectivity with audiovisual terminals located anywhere inside and outside the buildings of the legislative complex.

The French National Assembly has installed a complete signal distribution and communications backbone network based on the solutions of Riedel.

French Assembly with RiedelRiedel's MediorNet real-time media network provides redundant, decentralized signal routing and transport across the French National Assembly facilities in Paris. Tightly integrated with MediorNet, Riedel's Artist digital matrix intercom system and Bolero wireless intercom provide clear, reliable communications for French National Assembly staff.

Christian Castelli, audiovisual systems engineer at the French National Assembly, comments: "Riedel's MediorNet represents a radical departure from the traditional approach to signal transport, which relies on a central router and third-party transport and processing devices. Instead, MediorNet's decentralized approach provides enormous benefits, including redundancy, flexibility and the ability to scale the system according to our needs. For these reasons, MediorNet was the perfect choice to meet our complex media distribution and communications.”

This backbone continues to evolve with the expansion of a new multi-position video control room and the connection of other commission rooms by satellite. Riedel's MediorNet backbone consists of four routers MetroN core, tres mainframes MediorNet Modular, more than 30 MicroN and 25 high-density media distribution network devices stage-box Compact. Deployed in a decentralized configuration, MediorNet components ensure fully redundant distribution of all audio/video and communications signals across different buildings.

The robust intercom system consists of an Artist 128 mainframe with control provided by multifunctional user interfaces SmartPanel Riedel RSP-2318. The Artist mainframe also provides access points to all Bolero wireless belt packs.

Franck Berger, Managing Director for France and Africa at Riedel, acknowledges that "it is an honor to welcome such a prestigious client as the French National Assembly to our list of high-profile deployments. This installation is a very useful case for Riedel that perfectly highlights the benefits of our decentralized MediorNet approach. We are proud of the key role that Riedel and MediorNet are playing in managing all the transport, routing, processing and communications needs of the French National Assembly, all in a single infrastructure.”
