Swallow, the application that brings together all the live and on-demand content of Mediaset España, is the television app with the highest growth rate in 2018, according to the study prepared by the company Smartme Analytics, for which it has analyzed more than 17,000 applications from 15 different sectors.

The app ranks as the one that has grown the most in number of users within television content applications between January and September, as reflected in the Smartme Flash Index (SFIx) study, which highlights the 100 most outstanding applications based on the number of active users and their growth so far this year.

Mitele accumulated 4.6% penetration among the Spanish population in the third quarter, compared to 2.2% in the first quarter, achieving an increase of 115% between both periods.

To prepare this ranking, Smartme Analytics, a customer behavior measurement company that uses its own data observation, recording and analysis technology, has given each app an Index, an index calculated using an algorithm that compares penetration at the beginning of 2018 and at the end of the third quarter, considering the base of active users of both new apps, with a significant margin of growth, and those already consolidated in the market and that have a large user base.

In addition to its outstanding growth rate so far this year, Mitele is the television platform with the highest online video consumption between January and September 2018 with more than one million videos served, according to Videometrix Multiplatforma). It achieves 43% more consumption in March-September compared to the same period in 2017 (the comparative period taken is March-September, given that the first data offered by the source in 2017 was published in March). Its main competitor, Atresplayer, has a cumulative total of 426,000 videos from January to September (PC data only).

Its mobile version has accumulated more than four million downloads in the first nine months, with an increase of 58% compared to the same period in 2017.
