The streaming platform owned by Perform Group, which will begin its activity in Spain next year, snatches the rights to the Euroleague and Eurocup from Movistar+ and Teledeporte, respectively.

DAZN

Dazn will have the rights of the Euroleague and Eurocup starting with the 2019/2020 season. The streaming sports platform with a presence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, Italy, the United States and Japan thus increases its portfolio of rights, including those it already owns those of MotoGP and the English Premier League in Spain, where will start its activity next year. Starting in 2019, followers of the two top European basketball competitions will no longer be able to follow the matches on Movistar+ (Euroleague) and telesport (Eurocup).

Jordi Bertomeu, president and CEO of Euroleague Basketball, holder of the rights to both competitions, has been proud of this agreement with Dazn, and has assured that "DAZN's revolutionary platform fits the innovative DNA of Euroleague basketball, taking the digital reach of our competitions to new heights and allowing us to grow our Spanish audience."

For its part, Jacopo Tonoli, commercial director of Dazn, emphasizes that "Euroleague Basketball has shown how serious the growth of the sport's fan base is since its launch in 2000. We too have big ambitions and love partnering with rights holders who embrace the change in the way fans want to watch the sport, building their audiences through streaming. We are expanding at an incredible pace and will soon be able to share all the details of our launch, with an unbeatable list of rights on the market."

For the first time, Spanish fans will be able to watch these sports anytime, anywhere and on any device (TVs, smartphones, tablets, game consoles and PCs).
