Qx now supports SMPTE 2110 (-20, -30, -31, -40), ST 2059 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), and ST 2022-7 dual-port seamless protection.

Phabrix Qx IP

Phabrix will release version 3.0 of its Qx rasterizer badge on NAB 2019, offering the latest hybrid IP/SDI test and measurement tools. The Qx, now compatible with SMPTE 2110 (-20, -30, -31, -40), Precision Time Protocol (PTP) ST 2059 and seamless protection ST 2022-7 two ports, providing simultaneous monitoring of one video data stream, two audio data streams and one ANC data stream in up to 16 active and scalable windows.

The two audio streams support up to 16 channels each at 1ms and 125us with PCM or AES3 Transport. The latest features also include information on the operator status for the PTP, the seamless reconstruction of 2022-7 and the time relationship of the flows with the PTP.

Advanced Qx ST 2110 engineering measurement features available in an upcoming release, which will be on view at NAB, include ST 2110-21 network compatibility measurement and virtual receiver buffer models, advanced PTP to Flow Time data view, and Inter-Packet Arrival Times for all flows contributing to the seamless reconstruction of ST 2022-7.

The Qx rasterizer, together with the Portable Sx TAGl from Phabrix, offers an unbeatable solution for hybrid IP/SDI environments. Sx TAG provides support for SMPTE 2110 (-20, -30, -40) encapsulation and decapsulation with ST 2059 PTP. Its new features include SDI to IP and IP to SDI gateways for ST 2110 and ST 2022-6, as well as the ability to generate an analog reference output coupled to the ST 2059 or 2022-6 IP PTP input.

New SDI-STRESS option

Phabrix will also demonstrate the new SDI-STRESS option Qx series, providing a set of advanced tools for SDI interface stress testing. Along with its rapid and automated 12G-SDI physical layer analysis using RTE (Real-Time Eye) technology, SDI-STRESS provides a world-class solution for SMPTE compliance verification of 12G/4x3G/2x6G/6G/3G/HD-SDI interfaces.

The toolset now includes full and windowed ocular amplitude histograms with maximum or average ocular amplitude measurement, SDI jitter insertion (10Hz to 10MHz, 0.01UI to 16UI), ocular amplitude adjustment (+/- 10%), rise time, pre-emphasis, signal inversion and squelch controls operating with the pathological overlay video pattern generator as the source or with a new PRBS signal generator (PRBS7, 9, 15, 23, 31), coupled to a new BERT Analyzer tool. Additionally, a new pathological EQ/PLL condition detector with real-time trigger on GPI output is provided all under REST API control.

AV Delay Generation and Analysis, a new option available on all Phabrix Sx portable instruments, also offers a comprehensive solution for measuring audio-to-video differential delay over a transmission system. The AV Delay Generator produces an adapted EBU Tech 3305 AV Sync 'clapper' test pattern and is compatible with third-party AV delay analyzers, including the LAWO V_pro8.
