El Ranchito will open headquarters in Tenerife
The new headquarters in Tenerife that will be added to its facilities in Madrid and Barcelona and its commercial offices in Los Angeles and Mexico.
The Ranchito, one of the most important visual effects companies in the world, has decided install a headquarters in Tenerife which will be added to its facilities in Madrid and Barcelona and its commercial offices in Los Angeles and Mexico. This company, winner of an Emmy award for Game of Thrones, will begin its journey in an office in Santa Cruz where it plans hire at least 40 people.
Felix Bergés, director of the company, has highlighted the El Ranchito's commitment to training of local professionals while valuing the tax incentives offered by the Canary Islands through the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) and the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC).
For his part, the president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Carlos Alonso, thanked El Ranchito for its commitment to the Island and recalled that its arrival in Tenerife "culminates three years of conversations in coordination with the Government of the Canary Islands to attract companies in a sector, such as animation, which already has almost a dozen companies installed on the Island that employ 300 people."
Alonso, who recognizes the great future that is seen for the sector, points out that "although tax incentives open the door, then we must have trained people and infrastructure such as the supercomputer, submarine cables, fiber optics or the Datacenter, which are also important attractions."
For his part, the Canarian president, Fernando Clavijo, highlights the “very high level” of El Ranchito in the framework of audiovisual production of special effects “which is now installed in Tenerife thanks to the joint work carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo to promote the tax advantages of the REF and the internationalization of the islands.”
Clavijo recognizes that little by little a very favorable ecosystem is being generated for companies that, in the case of El Ranchito, “come with a vocation for the future to generate talent and knowledge.”
El Ranchito is a Spanish visual effects company for film, television and advertising. Created in 2004, it has participated in the post-production of more than one hundred advertisements and one hundred films and television series, many of them for the international market.
The work of El Ranchito, which has more than 150 highly experienced professionals on its staff, has been recognized with eight Goyas in the best special effects section; five VES (Visual Effects Society Awards) for game of thrones y Impossible; three Gaudí and with an Emmy and an HPA (Hollywood Professional Association) Award for best visual effects for Game of Thrones.
They have also left evidence of their professionalism in other film titles such as Now, by Alejandro Amenábar; A monster comes to see me, by J. Bayona, Super López, Wild tales or Biutiful.
