The Arista R3 series expands our ability to deliver high-performance hosting and interconnection services.

Arista R3

Arista just launched the 7800R family of 400G for the demanding cloud networks and the next generation of the series Arista 7500R and 7280R.

The new platforms support 100G and 400G Ethernet, feature attractive performance, density and pricing, and offer a new telemetry and intelligence on the network for service provider, Edge, 5G and IoT solutions. Addressing, security and automation improvements are delivered through Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System).

Matthias Karlsson, Director of Engineering at Netnod, comments that “as the leading provider of interconnection services in the Nordic countries, and the number one choice for access to the Russian and Baltic markets, Netnod offers the most flexible interconnection services available.

"The Arista R3 series expands our ability to offer high-performance hosting and interconnection services. It provides energy-efficient systems that support 400G and a comprehensive set of functions that allow us to offer industry-leading interconnection services at our neutral points located in the Nordic countries," he adds.

The new 7800R3 series offers 36 400G ports per line card, four times more compared to previous modular systems, to conveniently address the increased routing needs of the cloud data center. Enhancements to the 7500R3 series deliver increased density and performance with investment protection. The 7280R3 series offers up to 48 400G ports that can be divided into 192 100G ports. All R3 series feature a proven VoQ deep buffer architecture, with support for 400G, expanded path scaling, and new telemetry features.

“The extension of the R Series to 400G and the new 7800R3 provide customers with the increase in performance needed to handle exponential traffic growth, network segmentation, telemetry and cybersecurity challenges,” said Anshul Sadana, Chief Operating Officer, Arista Networks.

Proven secure platforms

The 7800R3 series is initially available in 4- and 8-slot modular chassis, with up to 576 ports of 400G or 460Tbps capacity for larger scenarios, with a choice of 100G and 400G modules with optional MACsec for secure interconnection between data centers.

7500R3, the latest generation of the award-winning 7500 series, offers compelling enhancements with 400G and 100G line card options while protecting customers' investments. The latest additions include Inband Network Telemetry (INT), IPFIX and Network Address Translation (NAT) along with increased capacity and scale while improving energy efficiency.

7280R3 is the third generation of fixed systems using the R-series architecture, with three times the performance, double the scale and energy efficiency, and 400G support for environments where space and energy consumption are at a premium.
