The generation of educational content and its dissemination on the Internet will be the focus of the XVIII Professional Conference of the Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia
The Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia, of the RTVA Group, organizes in Seville the XVIII Professional Conferences “The generation of educational and dissemination audiovisual content on the Internet: Youtubers, Naukers, videobloggers…”.
The Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia, a non-profit institution dependent on the RTVA Group, launches a new edition of its Professional Conferences, reaching its 18th consecutive year. Taking into account the great acceptance by professionals in the audiovisual-ICT sector and education of the audiovisual/education topic addressed in 2018, this professional meeting will be dedicated in 2019 to The generation of educational and dissemination audiovisual content on the Internet: Youtubers, Naukers, videobloggers...
The event will take place in the next June 4 and 5 2019 and which moves its headquarters to the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Communication of the University of Seville (Américo Vespucio, 27 Isla de la Cartuja, 41092 Seville), coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the university institution in 2019 and by virtue of the close collaboration between both entities developed so far.
Currently, audiovisual contents are used as formal and informal education tools in our current networked society, and therefore it is necessary to develop initiatives that allow analyzing the quality of these contents and the formulas so that they become tools that enhance adequate personal, social and professional development. Taking into account this reality and the demands of both sectors (ICT audiovisual and educational), the AVA Foundation pursues with these XVIII Professional Conferences promote the necessary link between entities and professionals of education and the audiovisual-ICT sector through various approaches, which intersect audiovisual power with educational needs.
This event will allow for debate on the contributions that educational and informative audiovisual content can offer to educational work, as well as on the possibilities of raising awareness, production and, therefore, generating employment and creating an industry, which are open to professionals and companies creating these contents intended for the consumer public.
Among others, the challenges that education has to face to use and adapt to these new online content will be analyzed; The role of YouTube and different video channels will be debated, configuring themselves as educational tools of the 21st century and their contribution to the comprehensive development of people; They will help to know, on the one hand, the various initiatives that generate audiovisual content for education and dissemination; and on the other hand, the professional reality of the new creators of this content, called youtubers, cultubers... with great social influence.
The AVA Foundation aims, ultimately, to promote a debate that allows advancing and promoting the development of audiovisual activity in the educational world and that said activity is appropriate and of quality, in such a way that it contributes to the improvement of the personal and social well-being of our society.
Agenda
The sessions will be organized in morning and afternoon blocks that will be distributed over two days. The blocks will alternate presentations on specific topics, of a theoretical-practical nature, and thematic sessions with experts, institutions, businessmen and businessmen, as well as professionals, who will present their experiences on different aspects.
The Conference opens on Tuesday, June 4, with the conference Youtuber as an educational tool of the 21st century (10:00-11:00 hours) by Melanie Parejo McWey, YouTube Strategic Alliances Manager.
From 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the table takes place Institutions that generate initiatives that promote educational and informative audiovisual content, in which Emilio García, Scientific Culture Unit of the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC) participates; Paloma Domingo García, General Director, Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT); Ángel Uranga, Researcher, Institute of Theoretical Physics IFT UAM-CSIC; and Helena González Burón, Director and Co-Founder of Big Van Ciencia.
After a break, the day resumes from 12:45 to 2:00 p.m. with the thematic session Youtuber, Booktuber, Naukas...: New professionals in the audiovisual sector who contribute to dissemination and education, in which Natalia Ruiz Zelmanovitch, Head of Communication at NANOCOSMOS ERC (IFF-CSIC), intervenes; Sebas G. Mouret, booktuber creator of the channel The Collector of Worlds; Gemma del Caño, Pharmacist, Naukas and Food Safety Collaborator; and Dr. Inés Dawson, Scientific Popularizer – Draw Curiosity.
The afternoon continues from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. with the thematic session The development of the professional career and channels of people who generate informative educational content on the Internet con José Arcas, Head of Creative & Sales, VIZZ Agency; Blanca Formáriz. Directora de Operaciones de 2btube y Presidenta de la Comisión de Influencers de IAB; y Felipe Jiménez Luna, Director de Tuiwok Estudios (Endemol Shine Iberia).
This first day ends with the thematic session The use of educational content and dissemination channels for formal and non-formal education (6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) with the participation of Samuel Martín, Director of La2; Antonio Pérez, Secondary School Teacher. Solidarity Science Channel and AntonioProfe. IES Sierra Luna, Province of Cádiz; Jorge Carrasco, Organizer of TEDxMálaga; and José Antonio Navarro Moreno, RTVA General Directorate Cabinet Technician, US Communication Faculty Professor.
On Wednesday, June 5, the Conference begins from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the conference #whymaps: Design content to entertain, learn, grow, reflect and that takes your biases into account , taught by Sergio de Pazos Fernández, co-creator of #whymaps and director of Strategic Design at the Institute for the Advancement of Narrative.
After the morning break, continue with the thematic session Do these new informative and educational content on the Internet teach us to learn to be and to know? (11:30-1:30 p.m.), which includes the presence of Clara Grima, Scientific Popularizer, Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Seville; María Esther Galicia Naranjo, President of the Paideia Association of Pedagogues of Andalusia.; Pere Estupinya, Director and presenter of The Brain Hunter on TVE's La 2; Laura Morán Fernández, Psychologist, family and couples therapist and sexologist at the Zubikoa multidisciplinary office (Vizcaya); Dr. Mª Concepción Lillo Delgado, Full Professor at USAL and neurobiologist at INCYL; and Rocío Sánchez, Secondary Music teacher. The day ends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the thematic session Do these audiovisual contents on the Internet stimulate learning to live and coexist? starring Soledad Romero, Professor at the University of Seville; Ramón Noguera, Psychologist and university professor; Anna Boldú, CEO of Canal Platanomelón; Sergio de Pazos Fernández, Co-creator of #whymaps and director of Strategic Design at the Institute for the Advancement of Narrative; and Enrique Couto Bueno, Co Founder at VisualPolitik.
The Conference will be led on Tuesday the 4th by Natalia Ruiz Zelmanovitch, Head of Communication at NANOCOSMOS ERC (IFF-CSIC) and on Wednesday the 5th by Inmaculada Gordillo Álvarez, Vice-Dean of Academic Organization and Teaching Staff at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Seville.
On the other hand, in order to disseminate the ideas and reflections that arise, these Professional Conferences, with the express permission of the people participating, will be broadcast via streaming, and will be recorded to later be uploaded to the YouTube portals and in the “AVA TV Foundation” App for Android TV. Furthermore, once finished, the presentations and debates generated during them will be collected in a non-profit publication that will be edited by the AVA Foundation, which will only pursue dissemination for teaching or research purposes.
