Atresmedia increases its net profit to 69.6 million euros (+0.5%) and increases its EBITDA by +2.5% (103.8 million)
The Net Income of the Audiovisual Business, for its part, stands at 501.7 million euros and the Ebitda grows by +2.9% to 94.8 million euros with a margin on Net Income of 18.9%.
Atresmedia has increased its net profit up to 69.6 million euros (+0.5%) and has increased its EBITDA a +2.5 reaching the 103.8 million of euros, which represents a Margin on Net Income of 19.2%. The company, thanks to effective management, has improved the data of a market that is decreasing (-2.2%) compared to the same period in 2018, according to Infoadex, and has obtained Net Income of 539.9 million euros.
In June, Atresmedia distributed an extraordinary dividend charged to freely available reserves at a rate of 0.25 euros per share in gross terms, a total of 56.3 million euros
For its part, the Net Income of the Audiovisual Business stands at 501.7 million euros. 416.9 million come from television advertising. With this data, Atresmedia Televisión's share of the market stands at 41.7%, according to Infoadex. 22 million come from digital advertising.
Income from content production and distribution reaches 40 million euros with a growth of +26.3%. These income include, among others, the national and international production and sale of series (Atresmedia Studios), the distribution of content on payment platforms in European and American markets, as well as the group's film activity (Atresmedia Cine).
Finally, 22.7 million come from other income (+32%) such as events, publishing business...
The EBITDA of the Group's Audiovisual Business grew by +2.9% and stood at 94.9 million euros, with a Margin on Net Income of 18.9% vs. 17.9% in the first half of 2018.
Audiovisual business
Within the Audiovisual Business, the set of Atresmedia TV channels has achieved an audience share of 26.9% in the period, being the audience leader in prime time in commercial target, the most demanded by advertisers, with 29.6% and surpassing Mediaset by +1 point. By channels, Antena 3 obtained an audience of 12.4% in the first half of 2019 and led in prime time in the commercial target with an audience of 13.7% and +0.2 points than its main competitor.
LaSexta, with an average audience of 7.2%, is +2 points above its main competitor in its greatest historical distance. In the commercial target in the prime time slot it reaches 7.8%. The set of complementary channels of Atresmedia TV (Neox, Nova, Mega and Atreseries) adds, for its part, an audience share of 7.4% in the accumulated as of June 2019, a figure that grows to 8.8% in commercial target. Internationally, Atresmedia channels reach 57 million subscribers, 4 million more than in the same period of the previous year (+7% growth).
Digital
In the Digital Environment, Atresmedia reached a monthly average of 32.6 million unique browsers as of June 30, 2019, with a growth of 29.1% compared to the monthly average as of June 2018. According to the data published by comScore as of June 2019, Atresmedia remains in position 9 of the top ten most visited sites, chaining ten consecutive months among the best ten. It reaches a historical record with 24 million unique users, and maintains its leadership in the audiovisual sector on the Internet, with 6.7 million more users than Mediaset.
Atresplayer, the Group's online video platform, has 2.1 million unique users, according to comScore, with the average for the year being 2.6 million users. In addition, as of June 2019, it reached 6.8 million registered users.
Cine
Atresmedia Cine has released five feature films during the first half of the year: People Who Come and Bah, Losing the East, Taxi to Gibraltar, The Sisters Brothers y The Japan. In addition, it has kept films such as Time after y The Kingdom. Together, they represent 22% of the collection of Spanish cinema in the period.
Within the Radio Business line, Atresmedia's three radio offerings reach a combined audience of 3.5 million listeners, according to the latest General Media Study. By stations, Onda Cero grew by +0.9%, remaining the third option in the ranking of general broadcasters. In the field of themes, Europa FM registers 1.3 million listeners and Melodía FM reaches 234,000 listeners.
The Division's Net Income grew by +2.5% and reached 43.3 million euros. The Gross Operating Result of the Radio Business as of June 2019 is 8.9 million euros, which represents a Margin on Net Income of 20.5%.
