The opening ceremony of the Pan American Games for the first time in 4K with Mediapro

The audiovisual group is in charge of broadcasting all the sports competitions that encompass the Pan American and Parapan American Games, with nearly 1,000 hours of coverage, for which it has deployed 650 specialized professionals, 16 mobile units, 27 ENG teams and dozens of high-tech equipment.

Mediapro is producing, from Friday, July 26 and until next August 11, the Pan American Games, the most important sporting event after the Olympic Games, and which brings together 6,664 athletes from 39 sports and 62 disciplines. On Friday, July 26, the inauguration ceremony, which has occurred for the first time in the history of the Games in 4K technology, and from then until August 11, when the closing of the Games will be held, also in 4K for the first time, Mediapro distributes a 24/7 signal with live events and the most notable content to 33 operators from 41 countries. Right after, also with Mediapro production, the Parapan American Games will be held from August 23 to September 1.

The audiovisual group is in charge of broadcasting all the sports competitions that include both Games, with about 1,000 hours of coverage, for which it has deployed 650 specialized professionals, 16 mobile units, 27 ENG teams and dozens of high-tech equipment to cover a total of 2,800 events in 21 venues. 298 cameras are used, 64 of them special, including beautyshots, robotic cameras, aquatic cameras, polecam, Jimmy Jib, steady cam, omnicam and drones, to offer the best images of the competition.

Mediapro is also responsible for the implementation of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) located in the Lima Convention Center where the reception of all the signals received from the 21 venues is centralized for subsequent distribution to the 33 international television operators with broadcast rights to the Games. The IBC also offers technical coverage to the media that traveled to Lima for the event, and has television studios and live connection points.
