RT Software Standardizes AJA I/O Solutions for Fast, Reliable Graphics Playback

Since flexible audio and video I/O are essential for these visual effects, products AJA Corvid and Kona have become RT Software's reference technology.

Its AJA-powered solutions have been used since 2014 to control graphics, augmented reality and 4K broadcast coverage of major sporting events, from Wimbledon to cricket, a world-leading sailing competition and beyond.

For the Wimbledon coverage, BBC Studio earlier this summer, employed three of the 3d-Live engines from RT Software, each supported by an AJA Corvid 88 high-density I/O card, allowed graphical templates created in RT Software's Edit-3d to be rendered and composited live in the broadcast.

Chart traders were able to call up and display individual charts on demand, increasing the viewing experience for tennis fans. In addition to 3d-Live, other RT Software solutions rely on AJA solutions for capture/playback, such as the Swift Overlay Graphic Editor, which includes a Corvid or Kona card depending on the exact video I/O requirements. RT Software's Tactical family of telestration tools for broadcasters is also based on AJA I/O cards, which support any broadcast format, up to and including 4K/UltraHD, for simultaneous playback/recording.
