A delegation of ten producers from Poland will go to San Sebastián to learn about the Film Festival and participate in the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum and the rest of the Industry activities.

VIII Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum

In the 67th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, and thanks to the collaboration of Polish Film Institute, ten producers will come to the capital of San Sebastian to participate in the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum and expand its co-production opportunities with other European and Latin American countries.

He Focus on, an initiative whose objective is to facilitate the presence at the Festival of industry professionals, preferably from the field of production, from a specific country or territory to extend their network of professional contacts and participate in the Industry activities of the Festival, will on this occasion be dedicated to Poland.

Poland is a country with consolidated cinematography and an industry increasingly focused on developing co-productions. In addition, since this year it has a new tax credit regime launched by the Polish Film Institute.

The presence of Polish productions in the different sections of the San Sebastián Festival has increased significantly in recent years. After the world premiere in the Official Section of Playground/Playground In 2016, six productions and co-productions from Poland have participated in different sections in 2017 and 2018. This year the co-productions can be seen at the Festival The Other Lamb de Malgorzata Szumowska (Sección Oficial) y The Paths of My Father by Mauricio Osaki (Cinema in Progress).

This initiative was launched in 2014 with Focus on Canada, thanks to the collaboration with Telefilm Canada, a territory that was once again the subject of Focus on in 2015 due to the success of said initiative. In 2016, in collaboration with the film institutes of Denmark, Iceland and Norway, the Focus on Nordic Glocal was held, which served as a starting point for the Glocal in Progress activity (the first edition of which took place in 2017) and in 2018 it was dedicated to the Baltic States.
