Serge Van Herck, former president of Newtec, will be the new CEO of EVS
The new CEO will share the direction of the Belgian company until the end of this year when, once the transition is completed, Pierre De Muelenaere will start new projects.
Serge Van Herck, former president between 2006 and 206 Newtec, a Belgian company specialized in solutions for satellite communications, will now be the new CEO of EVS.
An electromechanical engineer from the University of Ghent, he has an MBA from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium, and 25 years of experience in management and direction in the broadcasting and satellite communications industry with companies such as Proximus, Accenture and Eutelsat. He has served on the board of directors of several national and international organizations, as well as industry and trade associations. In 2008 he joined the WTA (World Teleport Association) and the ESOA (European Satellite Operator Association) as a member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the VOKA (Flanders Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and of Agoria (the largest employers' organization and trade association in Belgium).
This appointment of InnoVision BV (represented by Serge Van Herck) as CEO will be effective immediately. Pierre De Muelenaere, Chairman of the Board of Management, who has served as interim CEO of the company since July 2018, will help Serge Van Herck carry out a smooth transition. The transition period will last until the end of Pierre De Muelenaere's mission on December 31, 2019.
Pierre De Muelenaere was very happy "to welcome Serge Van Herck as the new CEO of EVS. I am convinced that his extensive experience in the radio and television market will be an important asset for the future of EVS."
For his part, Serge Van Herck is grateful "to have been appointed as the new CEO of EVS, which is a company with a great team and an impressive reputation in the live streaming solutions market. I join EVS after a successful transition period from Pierre De Muelenaere and I am very grateful to be able to count on his experience to make a smooth transition."
“Durante mi larga misión como CEO ad interim, he hecho todo lo posible para ayudar a EVS, alinear los equipos, mejorar los procesos, impulsar el negocio y organizar una Junta Directiva más equilibrada con la llegada de Belfius y Ackermans & van Haaren como nuevos accionistas. Se han puesto en marcha muchas iniciativas nuevas y ahora se transferirán a Serge, así como todos los archivos. Todo esto se completará a finales de este año”, ha añadido De Muelenaere.
Pygargue SPRL (permanently represented by Pierre De Muelenaere) has informed the company that it has decided to leave EVS on December 31, 2019, which is at the end of its long term as interim CEO of the company. In order to focus on new projects, he will resign on that date in his capacity as President and member of the Board of Directors.
"I joined EVS as Chairman of the Board of Directors and the "CEO ad interim" assignment was not originally planned. So, in July 2018, I had to reorganize my time in a very short time and it has also been a very intense period since then. Leaving EVS will allow me to catch up on some of my other projects. The EVS project will remain a great memory. I have discovered a fantastic company and a great team and I am proud of the work I have done over the last 14 months with the EVS management team. They are great people and have given me excellent support,” concludes Pierre De Muelenaere.
