The San Sebastián International Film Festival chooses NEC as its official projector supplier
In collaboration with Kelonik, NEC becomes the official supplier of digital cinema projectors at the most international of Spanish festivals.
The San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF) has selected NEC Display Solutions Europe as a supplier of digital cinema projectors. Working with Kelonik, NEC projectors are being used in this edition, which opened last Friday and will close on September 28, 2019.
Founded in 1953, SSIFF is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as a “top-notch competitive film festival.” Its objective is to make a positive contribution to the development of cinema culture and the industry, to achieve this it must offer extraordinary cinema experiences to its attendees. Large screens and highest quality dual projection capabilities are required. Last year's event attracted nearly 1,700 accredited guests from 63 countries around the world.
José Luis Rebordinos, Festival Director, highlighted that "with Kelonik as our festival's technical partner for over 35 years and NEC as our new digital cinema projector partner, we can be confident that we will be able to offer exceptional quality projections throughout the festival. This will include one of the largest, double projection screens ever seen at any film festival in the world."
For its part, Alain Chamaillard, director of EMEA and CIS film, NEC Display Solutions, underlines that "the San Sebastian International Film Festival is a 'category A competitive film festival' and is in the same line as Cannes, Berlin and Venice. We are extremely proud to be the official supplier of projectors. For decades, the screenings at the Velodrome have been the best connection between attendees and the festival. It is worth noting that every year more than 175,000 people attend the event. Thanks to technology “We will take the NEC laser experience to a new level, making it unforgettable for all attendees.”
