The V Window of Madrid Cinema opens registration for its activities
Ventana CineMad will take place from October 23 to 25 with Argentina, Brussels and Canada as guests. Registration for program activities will remain open until October 25.
The Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA), the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council have announced the program of activities for the fifth edition of the Madrid Cinema Window (CineMad Window). This initiative for promotion of international co-productions, which will be held from October 23 to 25 in Madrid with Argentina, Brussels and Canada as guests in 2019, has the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Hub Brussels / Screen Brussels and the collaboration of INCAA and Telefilm.
He International Coproduction Forum, the main attraction of the event, which this year will feature twenty finalist projects after tripling applications, will be complemented by the different activities open to the public. Among the most notable, the round table on success stories of international co-productions or the one dedicated to television series under the title 'The boom in TV series, is there room for everyone?'. Registration for these activities, whose deadline will remain open until October 25, is free until capacity is reached.
In order to promote the capital as a privileged location for filming and headquarters of a dynamic audiovisual production sector, the program also includes the celebration, on Wednesday, October 23 at 8 p.m. at La Casa Encendida, of the cocktail party Filming in Madrid. During it, a video of Madrid-produced films representative of our industry, as well as a series of emblematic locations in Madrid, will be screened before the international delegations invited to the event.
The winners of this fifth Madrid Cinema Window will be announced at the closing ceremony next Friday, October 25. In addition to the 20,000 euros in prizes, this year there is also the Ventana Sur Award for the project with the greatest potential for co-production with Argentina, which will allow the winner to participate in this prestigious market held from December 2 to 6 in Buenos Aires.
The companies responsible for the twenty projects that aspire both to these awards and to establish potential international co-production agreements during this forum, have accumulated five Oscar nominations, twenty Goya Awards, eighty César Awards, one Golden Shell, two Silver Shells and one Golden Méliès, among other recognitions.
