Eurecat shows the potential of 3D audio for the publishing sector at the Frankfurt Book Fair
The technology center has applied binaural technology to audiobooks, in order to increase the immersive experience and offer a much more complete interaction with the work.
The technology center Eurecat (member of Tecnio) will present in this edition of the Frankfurt book fair the format of audiobooks and podcasts with binaural audio, through a new proprietary technology that allows you to enjoy a immersive experience thanks to 3D audio through headphones, replicating the way humans perceive sound emanating from the environment.
The audiobook demonstrators that Eurecat presents at the fair, which will take place from October 16 to 20, are the result of the technology center's research into the production, post-production and distribution of binaural audio content, in order to make tools available to sound designers, producers and authors to create three-dimensional sound content, both for the publishing, musical and audiovisual sectors.
In the words of the director of Audiovisual Technologies at Eurecat, Adan Garriga, “3D audio improves the experience of an audiobook, because it allows the addition of a three-dimensional soundscape that completely immerses the user, creating a very real connection and experience.”
According to Garriga, binaural sound technology “makes available to authors a new resource that enriches narrative language,” given that “it is more authentic to the human ear than any other audio format, since it is expressly designed to replicate the way of listening to the natural environment.”
Eurecat ofrece demostraciones de los audiolibros From the other side of the world (cuento infantil) y The last night (relato de misterio), y el podcast Blank Page, con una entrevista a Carlos Oliva, autor de The last night en este link.
