‘Painters and Kings of the Prado’ will premiere on December 9

The artistic content film produced by 3DProduzioni and Nexo Digital in collaboration with the Museo Nacional del Prado and A Contracorriente Films features the participation of the Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons.

It will be released on December 9 Painters and Kings of the Prado, joining the events of the celebration of the second centenary of the National Prado Museum that take place throughout this year.

The documentary film created by Didi Gnocchi, written by Sabina Fedeli and Valeria Parisi and directed by the latter, accompanies us through the masterpieces of one of the most important pictorial museums in the world. The Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons will guide viewers in the discovery of this unique heritage of beauty and art.

On the occasion of the official 200th anniversary celebrations, the film is a cinematic journey through the rooms, stories and emotions of one of the most visited museums in the world. Its cultural wealth, with more than 8,000 artistic treasures, is a fascinating experience that attracts almost 3 million visitors to Madrid each year.

It shows magnificent masterpieces that tell the history of Spain and an entire continent. Its collection tells the story of kings, queens, dynasties, wars, defeats and victories, as well as the story of the feelings and emotions of men and women of yesteryear and today, whose lives are intertwined with those of the museum: rulers, painters, artists, architects, collectors, curators, intellectuals and visitors. This heritage is universal and includes the works of Velázquez, Rubens, Titian, Mantegna, Hieronymus Bosch, Goya and El Greco, to name just a few.

The production of this documentary in the Royal Sites has had the exceptional participation of National Heritage.

The film will be released in more than 60 countries. In Spain it will do it hand in hand with A Contracorriente Films, as part of the extensive art film collection The greats of art in cinema, next December 9.
