Atos y Italian Radio and Television (RAI) have signed a four-year contract to develop the new system of multi-format video player of the Italian national public broadcaster. This project is part of RAI's strategy to improve the consumer experience by proposing personalized digital content, based on the personal preferences and behavior of each viewer, and deliver it at optimal speed, through a multi-format player, to every compatible device available.

Atos will manage the integration of the new player system in the RAI digital media supply chain, including installation, end-to-end integration, support and maintenance.

Since 2009, Atos has successfully collaborated with RAI to provide 24/7/365 on-site operations management services of RAI's digital media supply chain infrastructure and applications, so that digital audio and video content can be effectively stored, managed, delivered and played online, live and on-demand. With the support of Atos, RAI has been able to evolve its digital media services and improve its quality and scalability.

In 2017, Atos began the implementation of the Customer Identity and Access Management of the RAI, which registers, authenticates, profiles and engages users on all digital platforms and devices, to offer a 360º view of each client, safely and with full respect for their privacy (compatible with GDPR).

In 2018, Atos also began the implementation of RAI's multi-platform and multi-lingual content recommendation and intelligent search engine, which allows RAI to improve its users' experience of its digital content, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence technology for content discovery.
