ARRI Signature Primes

ARRI has started marketing its new range of lenses Signature Prime They are characterized by capturing warm, soft skin tones, with exceptionally soft bokeh and delicate highlights.

These large format lenses have been designed specifically for digital cinematography and offer 16 focal lengths ranging from 12 mm to 280 mm. This way they cover the entire image, up to 46mm, making them compatible with any ARRI or third-party camera with an LPL mount.

Since their introduction, ARRI Signature Prime lenses have been used in the filming of high-profile films and television series, including 1917 con Roger Deakins (CBE, ASC, BSC), Emily in Paris con Steven Fierberg (ASC), Just 1 Day con Chris Doyle (HKSC), Outlander (Season 5) con Stijn Van der Veken (ASC, SBC) y The Invisible Man with Stefan Duscio (ACS). Director of photography Adam Kimmel (ASC) has also used Signature Primes in spots for Audi, MG, Mercedes-Benz and Jeep.

Designed to perform perfectly in the most extreme conditions, these lenses have a Fast T-stop of T1.8 and fast focus roll-off, creating a greater sensation of depth and separation.

Thorsten Meywald, ARRI product manager for Optical Systems, comments that these new elntes are “modern and with a natural and timeless look that will be relevant for the next twenty years.”

The appearance of ARRI Signature Prime lenses can also be customized thanks to its removable magnetic rear filter holder. The Rear Magnetic Filter Holder allows cinematographers to create custom looks without having to permanently tune, and therefore damage, lenses.
