LiveU reveals its new LU800 unit for all-in-one field production over 5G

Combining multi-camera production with mission-critical streaming over native 5G, the new LU800 aims to be a game-changer for live news and dynamic sports productions.

LiveU has revealed this Tuesday, June 2, its new unit for multi-camera field production for news and sports on mobile networks. The new LU800 combines multi-camera production with mission-critical streaming in a native 5G unit.

Designed completely from the ground up to bring out the maximum potential of 5G networks, the LU800 supports up to four sources fully synchronized at the frame level from a single unit, using a powerful IP link up to 14 connections. The unit also offers higher quality video performance, with a transmission HDR up to 4Kp60 10-bit for optimal color depth and richness, as well as up to 16 audio channels for high-end productions.

The LU800 provides new levels of endurance, combining superior 5G performance with up to eight internal dual-SIM 5G modems, supported by high efficiency internal antennas. The unit has been optimized for 5G operations, addressing the unique requirements of 5G with maximum versatility and full support for the evolution of the 5G network.

With the LU800, LiveU now offers a complete end-to-end contribution, production and distribution. The unit's multi-camera production streams are fully managed by the LiveU Central cloud-based management platform and automatically fed to LiveU Matrix IP with full content management.
