RTVE will produce the institutional signal of tribute to the victims of COVID-19

More than one hundred professionals will be involved in the broadcast of the institutional signal of the event that will be carried out with 17 cameras.

Thursday July 16, Spain yields tribute to the victims of COVID-19 and at people and groups fighting the pandemic.

The State Ceremony will take place at the Armory Square of the Royal Palace of Madrid, from 09:00 to 09:30 hours. Chaired by King Felipe VI, it will be attended by the highest representatives of the State institutions, the European institutions and the World Health Organization.

RTVE will produce the institutional signal of the event in High Definition and will distribute it to all national and international media.

More than one hundred professionals will be involved in the broadcast of the tribute, to show its development in detail: arrival of the authorities and participants, greetings, ceremony, minute of silence, offering, speech by the King and subsequent statements.

The Corporation will have, among other means, a high-capacity mobile unit and a ground station to transmit the signal by satellite; 17 cameras to make the institutional sign with all the highlighted moments, some located at high points of the Royal Palace and Almudena to offer panoramic and complete views of the memorial; scorpio crane and telescopic crane; steadycam, robotic cameras and personalized cameras that will collect speeches and reactions.

The tribute will be broadcast live on La 1, Canal 24 Horas, TVE Internacional (live on all its signals for Spaniards living abroad), Radio Nacional, Radio 5 and Radio Exterior de España.

Ana Blanco will be the narrator of the event, whose story will also be told in the other three official languages of the State (Catalan, Galician and Basque).

La música será uno de los sonidos principales en el memorial, para transmitir el sentimiento de apoyo a las familias de las víctimas y a los afectados. 45 profesores de la Orquesta Sinfónica y 20 profesores del Coro RTVE, bajo la dirección de su maestro titular, Pablo González, interpretarán las piezas: el himno de España y la Canción espiritual (Geistliches Lied) Opus 30 de Johannes Brahms.

Programación especial

El jueves 16, desde las 08:20 horas, Televisión Española pondrá en marcha un programa especial presentado por Carlos Franganillo desde la explanada situada entre la catedral de la Almudena y el Palacio Real. Ofrecerá el contexto de este homenaje a las víctimas y dará voz a las familias y a los sectores que se han enfrentado a la pandemia. Conectará con el acto institucional a partir de las 09:00 y continuará después para ofrecer declaraciones de los asistentes.

Íñigo Alfonso estará al frente de la programación especial de Radio Nacional de España, que, además de retransmitir en directo el acto, hablará con expertos sobre la experiencia que padecieron las víctimas y la realidad de sus familias, así como sobre el papel de los servicios sanitarios y de emergencias. También conectará con el Palacio Real y los alrededores, pendiente de todos los discursos y las reacciones.

Ademas, el Telediario 2 del miércoles 15 se realizará también desde el set de TVE en las inmediaciones del Palacio Real, así como el TD-1 del mismo día 16.
