RTVE, together with Mediacrest, will produce the series set in the 70s 'Demokracia'

Created by Pedro García Ríos and Rodrigo Martín Antoranz, the series 'Demokracia' that will develop RTVE and the producer Mediacrest was awarded in Conecta Fiction 2020.

The series will tell the story of a young woman from the first class of 42 women who joined the National Police force in 1979 and who is assigned to a dangerous police station in the Madrid neighborhood of Vallecas. Her life will intersect with that of two other women from different social classes who will have to make important decisions that will change their lives.

Democracy presents the Spanish transition from a different point of view. A crucial moment in the history of Spain, a short transformation process in time, but subject to enormous political tensions, important cultural changes and great social revolutions.

In 2020, the series achieved the RTVE Conecta Fiction Award. It was presented at the SGAE Foundation pitch session and was selected among the 18 projects presented during the different sessions. The prize consisted of a development contract with RTVE, which series such as Malacca.
