The founder of Xeltec, Carlos Xifra, dies
Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, he played a notable role in the birth of private and regional televisions at the head of Xeltec for twenty years.
On September 2, one of the key professionals in the history of the broadcast sector in our country died in Madrid due to a lung condition at the age of 81: Carlos Cifra.
Born in Madrid in the middle of the Civil War (1938), Xifra studied Telecommunications at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
After holding positions of different responsibility in PESA, a true quarry from which many of the engineers who marked the era emerged, and later in Meditel, Carlos Xifra founded in 1993 with his wife, also a teleco engineer, Pilar Rubio (who passed away last January), Xeltec Video.
Game number one notable role in the birth of private and regional television in our country, facilitating from Xeltec both engineering and integration and supply of equipment from the main brands in the sector.
Xeltec's success has since been based on solutions based on product integration and the best selection of equipment to meet the needs of content producers.
A decade ago, Carlos Xifra and Pilar Rubio began their retirement by passing the baton at the head of the company to their son, Jesús Xifra. Today it is one of the leading companies in solutions for the production, storage and distribution of production and live content. They are currently present in several sectors in addition to broadcast, such as defense or institutional.
