Shared subscriptions to TV and online games double in Spain with mobility restrictions
In Spain, there are already 300,000 subscribers who use Together Price to manage multi-user accounts on platforms such as Disney Plus, Prime Video or Nintendo Switch and share costs.
Restrictions on movement have led to a striking increase in digital entertainment consumption, at a time when the economic situation forces consumers to adjust their costs. During the month of March, with the beginning of home confinement, the multi-user account management platform, Together Price, vio demand increased by 88% of connection services between people who share a subscription.
From March to June, the account management service experienced a average monthly growth of 64% in Spain, largely by those who took advantage of the options of teleworking and online classes to travel to second homes or their hometowns. Roommates or users with more than one home required a platform that simplified the payment and management of subscriptions to their favorite streaming video and music services, professional software and online games. Through Together Price, users can access 90 platforms such as Disney Plus, Marvel Unlimited, Amazon Music and Prime Video, Office 365, Nintendo Switch Online, HBO or Apple Music.
Currently, the service has 300,000 active subscribers in Spain, 1 million worldwide, and hopes to continue growing as it represents a safe and comfortable formula to reduce the cost of highly demanded services. Through multi-user accounts, and always in accordance with the terms and services of each platform, the consumer can save up to 80% of the subscription cost.
We all like television services, video games and other online activities, but we know that it is difficult to maintain the subscriptions necessary to access all the content we want. This leads to the problem that we can call “subscriber fatigue.” The best solution in this situation is to share the costs with roommates, friends and family.
Through Together Price, the user who has paid the main subscription ensures that each of the participants has paid the corresponding fee before accessing the service. In this secure private network, members can also communicate with each other as in any other social network. Public or private groups can be generated and, depending on the subscription you want to share, the system proposes four different categories: family, home, friends and co-workers.
For subscriptions that can only be shared at home or in special environments such as the family, the main advantage of Together Price is the group payment system, with a personalized link, you can pay the participation fee. On the other hand, in the case of digital services that do not have to be shared in predefined areas, for example, Nintendo Switch Online, Disney Plus, GAIA, etc. Together Price becomes a true social network that helps find people interested in sharing accounts outside their closest circle.
"Sharing expenses as a group means having access to more services for a much lower cost, but legally. Users have the opportunity to try the service that interests them and, if they consider it appropriate in the future, purchase an individual subscription," explains Sabrina Tadei, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Together Price.
A project by and for young people
Together Price is an Italian startup launched by the brothers Marco and Sabrina Tadei who, next to Luca Ugolini They wanted to respond to a very specific need: A network that would allow small groups of people to jointly manage payments and communications. They thought they could transfer the success of collective purchases to subscription services, seeing how active Netflix users are, for example.
This is how this service was born, especially aimed at young people between 18 and 35 years old, who often share a flat and also want to share the costs of streaming services, gaming platforms, software and cloud services. These are technology-savvy people, and active on social networks. It is a profile that is more fond of content than service, so they prefer to activate or suspend subscriptions based on the launch of new products. Faced with this trend, Together Price helps platforms retain these users, even in periods in which they would otherwise have paused their subscription, “and it is all thanks to the community spirit that is generated within the groups,” explains Sabrina Tadei.
