OverActive Media and OSL-DeAPlaneta sign a cooperation agreement to promote eSports

Overactive owns clubs such as MAD Lions, Toronto Defiant and Toronto Ultra, while the Planeta brand is the organiser of the RFE eCup.

OSL-DeAPlaneta, the esports brand of the Planeta group, and Overactive Media, a global eSports and entertainment company, have signed a Cooperation Agreement to join forces to better connect fans with the world of esports.

The two companies will work on joint lines of action in aspects such as the international distribution of audiovisual content, the marketing of media-rights derived from competitions, the Co-production and distribution of content and the expansion of the business of Licensing and merchandising.

"We are thrilled to enter into a relationship with such a premium brand as DeAPlaneta, and we are ready to explore new and exciting ways to bring original content to our current and future fans," he highlights Jorge Schnura, co-founder and president of MAD Loins.

Both companies are prominent players in the eSports ecosystem with proven experience in attracting audiences and non-endemic partners to help grow the industry. Its teams have already started working on various projects that will help promote gaming among wide audiences.

eSports have registered significant growth in recent years, both in players and in publishers, competition organizers and distribution platforms.

About the agreement, Ignacio Segura, CEO of DeAPlaneta, has pointed out that "we find in OverActive Media a strong international partner that sees the world of gaming as we see it: a source of entertainment content that must travel from pure competition on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube to entertainment for wide audiences on those same platforms and on open television".

OverActive Media is one of the founding companies of the international CS:GO competition Flashpoint in which teams such as MAD Lions and other top clubs such as Gen.G, Cloud9, Dignitas and Envy. Flashpoint (Flashpoint | Rush. Frag. Repeat.) they combined to create a strong and enduring league in a scene as fragmented as CS:GO.

For its part, OSL-DeAPlaneta, as the exclusive organizer of the RFEF's eFootball competitions, is currently immersed in the RFEF eCup, a reference FIFA competition in Spain and a tournament prior to the national qualifier that will define the Spanish team that will play the FIFA eNations Cup 2021. The RFEF eCup, which is the Spanish FIFA tournament with the largest number of players, is currently celebrating the first phase.
