OSL-DeAPlaneta, the esports brand of the Planeta group, and Overactive Media, a global eSports and entertainment company, have signed a cooperation agreement in order to join forces to better connect fans with the world of electronic sports.

The two companies will work on joint lines of action in aspects such as the international distribution of audiovisual content, the marketing of media-rights derived from competitions, co-production and distribution of content originals and the expansion of the business licensing and merchandising.

Both companies are leading players in the eSports ecosystem with proven experience in attracting non-endemic audiences and partners to help grow the industry. Their teams have already started working on various projects that will help promote gaming among broad audiences.

eSports have registered significant growth in recent years, both in players and in publishers, competition organizers and distribution platforms.

About the agreement, Ignacio Segura, general director of DeAPlaneta, has pointed out that “in OverActive Media we find a strong international partner that sees the world of gaming as we do: a source of entertainment content that must travel from pure competition on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. to the entertainment of broad audiences on those same platforms and on open television.”

OverActive Media is one of the founding companies of the international CS:GO competition Flashpoint which features teams such as MAD Lions and other top clubs such as Gen.G, Cloud9, Dignitas and Envy. For its part, OSL-DeAPlaneta, as the exclusive organizer of the RFEF eFootball competitions, is currently immersed in the RFEF eCopa, a reference FIFA competition in Spain and a tournament prior to the national qualifier that will define the Spanish team that will compete in the FIFA eNations Cup 2021 The RFEF eCopa, which is the Spanish FIFA tournament with the largest number of players, is currently celebrating its first phase.
