Bambú prepares 'Now And Then', the first Spanish series for Apple+
Apple TV+ once again bets on the Spanish-speaking market with Now And Then, an original production that will be filmed in Spanish and English by Bamboo Productions.
The project is captained by Ramón Campos, Teresa Fernández-Valdés and Gema R. Neira, the same team behind Velvet, The cable girls y Great Hotel. Gideon Raff (The spy, Homeland), for his part, will be executive producer and will direct the first two episodes.
Set in Miami and with an entirely Hispanic cast, Now and Then is a multi-layered thriller that explores the differences between youthful aspirations and the reality of adulthood, when the lives of a group of college best friends change forever after a weekend of celebration ends with one of them dead. Now, 20 years later, the remaining five will reluctantly reunite due to a threat that endangers their seemingly perfect worlds.
New Apple Originals
Now and Then, the first Spanish production for Apple, will join a growing offer of Apple Originals, exclusive productions for the Cupertino platform. Among these formats we find Echo 3, a new action thriller set between South America and the United States written by Oscar-winning producer and screenwriter Mark Boal; Acapulco, a new comedy series in Spanish and English starring Eugenio Dérbez and created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman; or new stories from the director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer and editor Alfonso Cuarón, winner of several Academy, Golden Globe and BAFTA awards, who currently has a global agreement to develop television projects exclusively for Apple TV+ through his production company Esperanto Movies.
Apple will also promote Masters of the Air, a new limited drama series from Apple Studios (executive produced by Amblin Television, by Steven Spielberg; and Playtone, de Tom Hanks y Gary Goetzman); Slow Horses, an international espionage thriller starring Oscar winner Gary Oldman; Pachinko, a drama series based on the acclaimed novel, and written and executive produced by Soo Hugh; Shantaram, based on the best-selling novel by Gregory David Robert and starring Charlie Hunnam; Suspicion, a high-paced thriller starring Uma Thurman and based on the award-winning Israeli series False Flag; y Dr. Brain, a new Korean-language sci-fi thriller written and directed by visionary filmmaker Kim Jee-woon.
