Hispasat will manage and transport the signals of Media Networks Latin America
The Spanish satellite telecommunications operator Hispasat has signed an agreement to take charge of the business management and transport of signals from Half Networks Latin America, group subsidiary Telefónica linked to the audiovisual scope.
The agreement will be executed in a gradual way in the coming months, in strict compliance with the regulatory provisions and without affecting the service received by television customers from Movistar In Latin America.
Middle Networks Latin America provides signal management and transport services to the main telecommunications and television operators in South America using Hispasat satellites in the Position 61st to reach millions of homes.
The integration of these services will allow Hispasat to strengthen his position as a reference operator in the region for services related to satellite television.
According to Dataxis, company specialized in market studies, in South America there are more than 17 million subscribers to satellite television, which reflects the importance of this technology in the region to carry out information, education and entertainment content to a very relevant part of the population.
Transformation plan
This action is within the lines of action raised by Hispasat in its 2020-25 strategic plan, which will lead the company to be an infrastructure operator to become a satellite services and solutions company. This transformation will be carried out by strengthening its current business, with actions such as this agreement with Telefónica, and promoting growth to address new market trends, which will allow a diversification of its offer through new technologies, services and strategic alliances.
