BeIN Media Group will be the first broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to broadcast using the innovative Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology.

The group’s flagship sports channel, BeIN Sports is already broadcasting UEFA Euro 2020 in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound thus offering its subscribers an immersive audio experience in the stadium.

BeIN Media Group’s Chief Technology Officer, Israel Esteban Martí, highlights that “we are always eager to find new ways of providing our subscribers with the very best sporting and entertainment experience possible. This exciting collaboration with Dolby Atmos will allow our 4K subscribers to watch the UEFA Euro 2020 knockout matches like never before in the MENA region. Incorporating this immersive sound technology is just the beginning of even more innovative viewing capabilities from BeIN.”

Dolby Laboratories’ General Manager of Emerging Markets, Pankaj Kedia, said he was delighted to “collaborate with BeIN and bring a live broadcast with Dolby Atmos to the football fans in MENA. With this development, we hope to advance the viewing of sports events with powerful and immersive sound, making the audience feel as though they are watching the football match from the middle of the pitch.”
