Sony HDC-P50

In order to produce this summer's major global sporting events, Gravity Media has acquired numerous equipment Sony such as 11 HDC-P50 4K cameras, 11 BVM-HX310 4K professional master monitors and nine LMD-A170 Full HD LCD monitors.

The HDC-P50 is a lightweight 4K POV camera with a lightweight and compact camera body that allows Gravity mobile unit crews the flexibility to use it in a fixed camera position or in any space-constrained situation, such as crane booms or helicopter camera mounts.

Sony BVM-HX310Complementing the cameras, new Sony monitors have been added to complement Gravity Media's already impressive arsenal of 4K and Full HD monitoring equipment. The precision and quality of the 4K HDR image offered by the professional main monitor BVM-HX310 TRIMASTER HX from Sony means that Gravity Media operators know that what they are seeing on site is faithful to the image being broadcast.

Furthermore, by combining high dynamic range and wide color gamut with a lightweight body, compact design and low power consumption, the LMD-A170 is the perfect complement to the outdoor broadcast workflows that Gravity Media will deploy to produce this summer's sports calendar.

Once this summer's sporting events come to a close, the versatility of these monitors means they will return to Gravity Media's base in Watford, UK, where they will be ready to go out onto a set, into a studio or can be used for any number of post-production applications, including 4K digital cinematography.

Ed Carpenter, Managing Director of Gravity Media in EMEA, comments: "Any good live broadcast has to start with the best quality camera systems available. That's one of the reasons we continually return to Sony; we know the build quality of their systems and the image quality captured on location. This is especially important ahead of one of the busiest periods for our teams."

"Adding these Sony cameras and monitors to our world-leading live production workflows means we can deliver the best quality live programming from the world's biggest events. That's what our customers expect from our teams and what this investment ensures we're delivering," he concludes.
