This is Beyond Sports, Sony's latest addition to the sports world
Hawk-Eye, Pulselive… and now Beyond Sports. The portfolio of Sony for the sports field grows with a company focused on the common points between the real and virtual spheres.
The Dutch firm Beyond Sports, recently purchased by Sony, aims to help create a new model of sports entertainment that builds a bridge between real and virtual world. According to its CEO and co-founder, Sander Schouten, the company has always wanted to “challenge the status quo when it comes to sports data, data visualization and sports content consumption”, which will now be possible with the help of the Japanese company.
The technology of Beyond Sports has already allowed brands like NFL, Premier League, KNVB, MLS, NHL, bein Sports o NBA have been able to carry out different initiatives: he analysis of sports matches through data, the generation of experiences outside traditional channels relying on concepts such as metaverso (with its own patented motor), or the remote production of sports formats through a virtual broadcast studio. And Beyond Sports define themselves as a company of AI-powered visualization, but the reality is that its business model is much more ambitious by bringing together and combining concepts such as data science, artificial intelligence or machine learning
Hawk-Eye y Pulselive they will continue constituting the pillars of Sony's sports business, as confirmed by the brand itself, although the incorporation of Beyond Sports to the family is one more step for Sony to offer new alternatives for your customers.
