Andrés Vicente, new president of Ericsson Iberia and CEO of Ericsson Spain
On October 1, 2021, Andrés Vicente will join Ericsson as president of the Iberia region (Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar). He will also hold the position of CEO at Ericsson Spain.
Andres Vicente joins the Ericsson group from Vodafone Spain. It has a solid track record of more 25 years in the operator, where he has developed a deep knowledge of the telecommunications sector and its ecosystem in Spain after ten years of experience as general director in the business areas of individuals and companies. He also has extensive international experience, which includes general management of the B2B segment for two years in Romania and active participation in boards of global commercial strategy at the group level for both the business segment and the individual segment for the last 8 years.
This appointment occurs, according to Ericsson, it occurs at a “crucial moment”, in which “the acceleration of the deployments and implementation of the 5G technology They represent a unique opportunity for the economic reconstruction of countries after the impacts of COVID-19.” During this stage, Ericsson plans to play a “leadership” role, supporting its clients in the full digitalization of society and the transformation of industries.

Andrés Vicente will succeed Javier García Gómez, who has held this position on an interim basis since June 1. Javier García will return to his permanent role as part of Ericsson's management team.
