MIPCOM - Cannes

ICEX Spain Export and Investment has brought together the participation of 20 Spanish companies in MIPCOM under the brand Audiovisual from Spain.

The edition number 37 of the International Fair is held in person at the Palais des Festival et Congress in Cannes, (France), between the days October 11 to 14, 2021. The Umbrella Stand Audiovisual from Spain has 20 participating companies, 6 of which will exhibit their contents at the stand in person: Anima Kitchent, Canary Islands Film Commission, Onza Distribution, Puro Studio, Wild Stories Distribution y Mixed Zone. Another 6 exhibiting companies are registered under the Spanish pavilion and participate with an exclusively online presence: Filmax, Grupo Ganga Producciones, Mediterraneo Mediaset España, Proi Comunicación y Zinkia Entertainment.

One of the axes of the Spanish presence in MIPCOM will be to enhance the series production, taking advantage of the success of Spanish fiction in recent years. According to information data prepared by Teleformat, analysis service of the international media consultancy GECA, in recent years the Spanish industry has considerably increased the number of fiction series productions, going from 9 premieres in 2016 to 32 in 2019, reaching 2020 the record number of 45 new series released. So far in 2021, 21 new series created and produced in Spain have already been released, mostly during the pandemic. A figure to which are added the second and consecutive seasons of titles on screen.

In total, Audiovisual From Spain will serve to publicize the work of 7yación, Anima Kitchent, Animazing Entertainment, Artico Distribution, Birdland Animation, Canary Islands Film, DRV Studio Navarra, Gran Canaria FC, Hampa Studios, Inside Content, Jugoplastika, Music Library and SFX, Onza Entertainment, Proexca, Proi Comunicación, Puro Estudio (El Reino Infantil), Scenic Rights, Tenerife FC, Wild Stories Distribution y Mixed Zone. Other Spanish companies also present at MIPCOM with a differentiated stand are The Mediapro Studio, TVE, Motion Pictures, Planeta Junior and the umbrella stands Basque Audiovisual y Catalan Films & TV. All of them located in adjacent areas within the Riviera Hall.
