The Tokyo University of Information Science (TUIS) trains its students remotely in post-production using DaVinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design.

Jun Asakawa, professor at the university's audiovisual laboratory, explains how he ended up choosing DaVinci Resolve to carry out this training: "The students at home couldn't use the same program that we had been using in the studio, and I didn't want them to pay for software with a cloud subscription. That's how I ended up opting for the free version of DaVinci Resolve. There were people who installed DaVinci Resolve on their laptops, which the university provides to all first-year students. They used their mobile phones to record the material and edited it in DaVinci Resolve for their assignments." Since TUIS is an official DaVinci Resolve training center, Asakawa and other teachers were ready to teach how to use the program.

Unlike conventional film schools, HOME It is not a space that attracts only students with an interest in video and film. TUIS has also recently reinforced its facilities with ten systems composed of DaVinci Resolve Studio, a device DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel and a keyboard DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor for more advanced classes, as well as a camera URSA Broadcast, and ten sets of one Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and two mixers ATEM Mini Pro.
