The Cygnus Awards for Solidarity and Values Cinema reward 'Maixabel' and 'La Fortuna'
Solidarity, equality and social inclusion are just some of the values that the Cygnus Film Awards reward.
Solidarity and Values, awards granted by the University of Alcalá (UAH), together with the Association of Producers and Distributors of Solidarity and Values Cinema (ACIVAS), to the professionals who have most distinguished themselves for capturing them in both film and television.
Within the Solidarity and Values Cinema Meeting that they sponsor EGEDA, CINESA y AIE On January 20, the fourth edition of the Cygnus Awards will be held, awarding the Best Film award to Maixabel by Icíar Bollaín, for Best Series fortune by Alejandro Amenábar and the Best Documentary to 100 days with dad by Miguel Ángel Muñoz.
For its part, Rossy de Palma y Eduard Fernandez will receive their awards for their performances in Parallel mothers y Mediterranean respectively, while Dani of the Order will do so by the direction of mom or dad, María Luisa Gutiérrez for the production of Full train. Destination Asturias, Alberto Iglesias by the OST of Parallel mothers, y Danielle Schleif, Marcel Barrena y Oscar Camps for the script of Mediterranean.
They also wanted to recognize as the best initiative in the audiovisual industry Create SGR, a non-profit financial entity specialized in the audiovisual, cultural, leisure, entertainment and sports sectors. Likewise, the jury has not forgotten the essential work of the director and founder of the NGO Open Arms, Oscar Camps, from the director of the Cinemas La Dehesa Booklets (Alcalá de Henares), Javier Iglesias Diaz, for betting on value cinema in the Corredor del Henares, and the councilor of Culture of Los Llanos de Aridane from the Island of Palma, Charo González Palmero, who has not stopped promoting culture and its importance, highlighting it, not only during the pandemic, but also during the eruption of the La Palma volcano.

The jury for this edition was made up of the rector of the University of Alcalá, José Vicente Saz; the Business Director of EGEDA, Carlos Antón; the advisor of Platino EDUCA, Cristina Montesinos; the director of Institutional Relations of CINESA, Tomás Junquera; the General Director of AIE, José Luis Sevillano; the general director of the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá, Mª Teresa del Val Núñez; the director of CIMUART, the CYGNUS Award and the Solidarity Cinema Meeting, Javier Santamaría; the general coordinator for operations of Doctors Without Borders, Muskilda Zankada; the advisor of ACIVAS, Carolina Góngora; the film producer, Elena Ajenjo and the rector's delegate for Culture, Science and Cooperation, José Raúl Fernández del Castillo (secretary and spokesperson of the jury).
