ARRI expands Orbiter accessories with Docking Ring, Bag-o-Light…

Docking Ring, Bag-o-Light, Glass Cover and Dome Mini are the new solutions that become part of the family of accessories for the Orbiter luminaire. ARRI.

The ad stars Docking Ring, a solution to easily integrate third-party systems into the Orbiter of ARRI. with the system Quick Lighting Mount (QLM), users will be able to easily switch between a wide range of compatible solutions from various manufacturers, including projection optics, Fresnel and Cyc-optics up to a weight of 7.9 kg. The Docking Ring itself is lightweight (~1kg) and compact (246mm x 225mm x 86mm), making it easy to transport. The system, in parallel, integrates an “automatic and silent” cooler fan, which guarantees the correct operation of third-party optics.

ARRI has also introduced the Orbiter Bag-O-Light, a soft light aimed at close-ups. This accessory, which can be attached to Orbiter's 15° Open Face optic, measures 2 m long with a diameter of 22 cm and weighs less than 0.86 kg. On the other hand, the Orbiter Glass Cover it's a ultra-translucent crystal which allows “complete and unrestricted” light output, without affecting color temperature or quality. ARRI defines the solution as “ideal” for short distance applications with limited available space where a lot of light is needed.

Finally, the Orbiter Dome Mini It provides “high-quality, high-intensity” omnidirectional light. Compared to the Dome optic, the Dome Mini It is a compact version and, therefore, smaller and lighter. Its highly translucent material keeps light output loss to a minimum compared to typically larger, fabric domes.
