The Film Academy and the Malaga Festival have recognized Sol Carnicero with the 2022 Ricardo Franco Award, an award that the production director will receive in what will be the 25th edition of the Andalusian competition, which will be held from March 18 to 27.

Fruit of the collaboration agreement between the Academy and the festival and for the fourteenth consecutive year, the institution supports this award for film technicians that was created in tribute to the director, screenwriter and producer Ricardo Franco a year after his death, in 1999.

Dedicated to audiovisual since 1968. It began in Spanish Television with the help of Óscar Banegas, Manuel Martín Ferrand, Alfredo Amestoy and Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. In 1974, during the period in which he held the Directorate of TVE Programs, he was in charge of the Directorate of the Program Secretariat. From this moment on he dedicated himself mainly to cinema, working for Alfredo Matas' production companies, under the orders of José Manuel Miguel Herrero. She was the first female production director in Spain, a role in which she debuted in the film Vámonos, Bárbara, directed by Cecilia Bartolomé.

La escopeta nacional, Patrimonio nacional, Nacional III, La vaquilla, Gary Cooper que estás en los cielos, El crimen de Cuenca, Hablamos esta noche, Esquilache, Los jinetes del Alba, Besos para todos, Horas de luz o Letter son algunos de los títulos de su filmografía.

Impulsora y socia fundadora de la Academia de Cine, institución para la que ha coordinado el programa del ‘Año Berlanga’, obtuvo el Premio Goya a la Mejor Dirección de Producción en 1988 por Cara de acelga.

He has taught courses on Audiovisual Production at the School of Image and Sound of La Coruña, at the School of Business Sciences of Badajoz, at the European Institute of Audiovisual Business, at Andalucía Digital Multimedia, at Santillana Formación, at the ESCAC of Barcelona, at the TEA of Tenerife, at the Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria, at the Menéndez Pelayo University of Santander and at the School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid.

In recent years, along with her activity at the Academy, as a member of the Production Management specialty, she has been dedicated, together with a group of filmmakers, to achieving recognition of the need to implement audiovisual literacy in primary education curricula.
