Blackmagic URSA Broadcast - Concurso Chopin

The Polish producer Live broadcasts opted for 4K URSA Broadcast cameras from Blackmagic to produce the streaming of the concerts of the International Chopin Competition.

The international event, in which the best pianists in the world take over the stage alongside the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, is organized by the institute Fryderyk Chopin in Poland and it is carried out every five years in the concert hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. The company Live broadcasts specialized offered live coverage of the preliminary rounds of the contest, as well as the concerts of the winning musicians, through the channel YouTube of the Chopin Institute and its mobile application, which attracted millions of viewers around the world.

The production of International Chopin Competition included two multi-camera sessions of up to 4 and a half hours per day. Live broadcasts opted for the format producing 2160p50 to demonstrate the development of professional quality since the last event five years ago, and to ensure that the majority of online viewers could have an extraordinary experience, as did the lucky few in the room.

In order to capture every essential detail of the show, the team used cameras URSA Broadcast along with devices Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter y Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter in very specific places in the room, for example, among the orchestra. Among the lenses used in production, a x90, used to achieve the key take of the pianist's right hand.

Finally, the program was mixed with a model ATEM Constellation 8K and a device ATEM 1 M/E Broadcast Panel, which was used to include graphics with information about the participants, the musicians and the selected pieces.
