The CNMV suspends the listing of Mediaset España due to a possible takeover bid by Berlusconi
The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has provisionally suspended the listing of Mediaset España this Monday "while relevant information about the entity is disseminated" that could be related to the intention of MFE-MediaForEurope to acquire the 40% that it does not yet control in its Spanish subsidiary.
The conglomerate chaired by Silvio Berlusconi, antigua Mediaset Spa, currently has 55.69% of the shares of Mediaset España, a company whose value would exceed 1,600 million euros in the Spanish Continuous Market.
MFE controls the 100% of Mediaset Italia And in 2019, the total takeover of Mediaset España was proposed without the operation being successfully completed on that occasion.
At the time of the suspension announcement, at 10:07 a.m., Mediaset España shares rose 2.30% on the Spanish stock market, reaching 5.1 euros per share. In the accumulated year, the company has achieved a revaluation of 24.57%.
