Warner Bros. is preparing a fictional series about Encarna Sánchez
Based on the book Directly Encarna Sánchez (Editorial Almuzara), by journalist Juanele Zafra, the production company Warner Bros. ITVP Spain is preparing a fiction series for television based on the figure of the popular announcer.
This is the first television series dedicated to Encarna, who became the most powerful woman on the radio in Spain and a true pioneer: she achieved hitherto unprecedented audiences, reinvented the social gathering of the heart and became in her time an absolute reference in Spanish journalism with her programs. Encarna Sánchez was not only a great broadcaster, she also amassed a million-dollar fortune and achieved an important influence in the society of our country. On his way to the top, in the 80s and 90s of the last century, his story portrays like few others concepts such as ambition, machismo, the media and, above all, power.
Furthermore, she lived with or was influenced by many of the women who marked the social and economic life of Spain at the end of the 20th century, from Isabel Pantoja, Mila Ximénez, Rocío Jurado and Lola Flores to Julia Otero, María Teresa Campos, the Koplowitz sisters, Pilar Miró and Gunilla Von Bismarck, among others. All women who in one way or another were part of Encarna Sánchez's life, some by her side and others in front of her.
To Sebastian Mogilevsky, general director of Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Portugal, "this is an important commitment that seeks to unearth the achievements of a woman with a great professional career and an exciting personal life that, today, can be told without hesitation or misgivings." The fictional series about the speaker "aims to show a fascinating story not exempt from lights and shadows," he adds, "an extraordinary story of a woman about whom we thought we knew practically everything but about whom there are still many unknown details to discover."
For its part, Juanele Zafra, author of the book Directly Encarna Sánchez, highlights that “it is the story of a professional who achieved absolutely everything except personal happiness.”

Encarna Sánchez was born in Carboneras (Almería) in 1936. In the 60s she moved to Madrid to work at Radio España. Starting in 1970, he spent seven years in America working in radio and television. Upon his return to Spain, in 1977, he spent five years in charge of the early mornings on Radio Miramar, where he swept audiences with Encarna at night.
Later, he would jump to the COPE network for 15 years, being his most remembered program. Directly Embodies, in the afternoon slot. He was the leader of his band for 19 uninterrupted years. In addition, he received countless awards and recognitions for his work, including three Ondas awards.
