Avid delves into remote collaboration with Microsoft and Haivision at NAB 2022
Microsoft y Haivision strengthen their alliance with Avid with important technological advances aimed at achieving deeper remote collaboration at all levels, which are being presented within the framework of NAB 2022.
The latest version of video editing software Media Composer will soon offer the desired native remote collaboration “over-the-shoulder” (OTS). In any case, Avid y Microsoft they are already demonstrating in NAB 2022 how to use output SRT Haivision's Secure Reliable Transport may allow publishers of Media Composer stream your high-resolution content to users Teams, facilitating collaboration between a production team. They are doing it from the Microsoft stand, since Avid does not have its own stand in this edition of the fair.
With secure streaming to any device (desktops, set-top boxes, mobile devices, video players and set-top boxes, including Apple TV), Media Composer features a “third monitor” collaboration experience to Teams that will speed up tasks like content review por parte de productores, directores y otros miembros del equipo de producción, incluidos los clientes, facilitando la retroalimentación en tiempo real y ayudando a concluir los proyectos más rápidamente.
Among them, the inclusion of the protocolo SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), allowing editors to stream their high-resolution video and audio streams anywhere, anytime directly to single or multiple endpoints simultaneously, as if viewing the editors' work in person, over their shoulder, whether Media Composer is on-premise or in the cloud. Thanks to secure streaming to any device, Media Composer workflows will incorporate the aforementioned “third monitor” experience.
Other improvements are the role assignment so that each user can participate in a collaborative edition; new options for the user interface, allowing customize workspace so that the user can maximize editing efficiency; the possibility that a single sequence can include up to 99 video tracks and 99 audio tracks; and compatibility with Media Composer Distributed Processing, which offloads processor-intensive media creation workflow tasks, such as renders, mixes, and exports, and frees up users' editing workstations, eliminating downtime from the production process to accelerate project delivery.
