Pérez Tornero relieves the general directorates of informative and general content.
The Board of Directors of RTVE held on April 29, has approved by majority the appointment of Josep Vilar as director of Informative Content and José Pablo López as director of General Content of the Corporation, at the proposal of the president of RTVE, José Manuel Pérez Tornero.
Vilar and López will replace Steve Crespo already Amalia Martínez de Velasco, respectively.
Graduate in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Joseph Vilar He was currently Director of Strategy and Planning at RTVE and has a long career in the Corporation, where he began his career in 1985 as a news editor and for twelve years he served as area head, editor and presenter.
He was Director of News of the Territorial Center of TVE in Catalonia from 2004 to 2007, when he became the director of Daily News of TVE until 2012. From January to July 2020 he was Director of Content of News Programs. On that date he was appointed director of News at TVE, a position he held for almost a year, until being named director of Strategy and Planning at RTVE.
Vilar has also held positions of responsibility outside RTVE as News Director of BTV (Barcelona Television) between 1997 and 2004. He was also a director of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (2012-2018). In addition, he has extensive experience as a teacher and since 1995 he has been an associate professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Jose Pablo Lopez
Graduated in Journalism from the San Pablo CEU University and in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, José Pablo López Sánchez has more than fifteen years of experience in directing different television networks.
El nuevo director de Contenidos Generales de RTVE es experto en acometer procesos de reestructuración de parrilla y relanzamiento de proyectos, así como optimizar recursos en emisoras a nivel nacional y autonómico. Une un profundo compromiso personal con la calidad de los contenidos, la producción propia, la sostenibilidad económica y el equipo humano a su cargo en todos sus proyectos.
En 2017 fue elegido director general de RTVM mediante concurso público por el Consejo de Administración de la compañía y ratificado por la Asamblea de Madrid sin ningún voto en contra, ocupando este cargo hasta 2021.
Anteriormente y durante seis años fue el máximo responsable de Trece TV (2010-2016), así como director de la asesoría jurídica (2005-2010) y adjunto a la dirección general de La Sexta.
