Fonte Films - Pablo Isla - Carla Pérez - María Jesús Román

The former president of Inditex, Pablo Isla, has joined forces with the Goya winner Carla Pérez and the lawyer María Jesús Román to shape a new audiovisual production company called Fonte Films.

The new producer Fonte Films It starts with multiple and ambitious objectives: develop projects of high technical quality with a global vocation, betting on new forms of audiovisual expression y transmit support and confidence to all the teams involved in an efficient management framework. At the same time, the initiative of Isla, Pérez and Román seeks to be an “incubator for new national and international talent,” which will serve to “spoil emerging creativity and foster agreements with other countries.”

Pablo Isla, who will occupy the position of producer and president at Fonte Films, has a degree in Law and a State lawyer. He was general director of State Heritage, general secretary at Banco Popular Español and co-president of the Altadis Group. In 2005 he joined the Inditex Group as vice president and CEO and in 2011 he assumed the presidency of the company until March 2022. Currently, Isla is also a member of the board of directors of Nestlé, Global Senior Advisor of General Atlantic and president of the International Advisory Council of IE University. It is also part of leading cultural institutions such as the Board of Trustees of the Prado Museum, the Royal Theater of Madrid and the La Caixa Foundation, among others.

Isla says he feels very “excited” about the creation of Fonte Films, to which he will contribute his “business experience to the audiovisual world” thus contributing “to the development of the thriving Spanish audiovisual industry.”

Isla You will be accompanied on this adventure by Carla Pérez de Albéniz, who will hold the position of executive producer on Fonte Films, has been working in the audiovisual sector for 25 years. Has worked in several Spanish production companies as production director, and carried out her work mainly in Spain, as well as in the United Kingdom, Argentina, Cuba, Brazil and Mexico. In the last three years, Pérez de Albéniz has been responsible for the production department of the Originals area of ​​Movistar Plus+. Among the recognitions it has received, the Goya 2020 for best Production Direction for the film stands out.  While the war lasts (Alejandro Amenábar) and the nomination for the same award in 2015 byThe Unknown (Dani de la Torre).

María Jesús Roman, for its part, will be in charge of the Business-Legal functions in Fonte Films. Lawyer specializing in the audiovisual sector for more than 20 years and founding partner-director of the firm MRG Lawyers, where he will continue with his functions providing his services for national and international production companies of recognized prestige, he will help in all legal advisory processes during the development, production and exploitation of the same.

To lead the creative team, Fonte Films has trusted the screenwriter and showrunner Diego Sotelo, who joins as content director and will develop functions as scriptwriter and showrunner in the company. During his 15 years of experience in national fiction, Sotelo has written the script for series recognized by critics and the public such as The Protected, Under Suspicion, Fariña y On death row, of which he was creator and executive producer. His latest work is The Immortal, a fictional biopic about the leader of the Miami gang.
