Hispasat Wave OTT, which has Nagra's OpenTV video platform, conquers IBC

The Spanish operator of satellite solutions and services of Redeia, Hispasat, and multi-screen content protection solutions provider, Nagra, have presented at IBC 2022 the new television as a service solution for Latin America, Wave OTT.

This television solution allows payment operators, Internet service providers (ISP) and regional content companies to offer their customers a high-quality multi-screen entertainment service, without the need to deploy its own infrastructure. This reduces the initial investment, as well as the time required to launch the service.

Wave OTT combines Nagra's OpenTV video back-end platform and the signal reception and processing infrastructure managed and operated by Hispasat.

The service includes advanced functionalities of the OTT market (such as Catch-Up TV and Network PVR), multiple audio and subtitles, EPG and reverse EPG, TimeShift, recording management, parental control, content search and recommendations.

In addition, the solution offers both linear channels and video on demand services. Wave OTT can be offered through operator-branded user applications on different devices, including SmartTVs and hybrid set-top boxes (STBs).
