Riedel's Micron UHDs, the axis of MDR's new decentralized routing system
German public broadcaster MDR (Central German Broadcasting) has revamped its fixed routing system with Micron UHD high-density and modular signal interfaces from Riedel, part of the MediorNet family.
Los 26 Riedel Micron UHD modules will provide MDR a signal routing decentralized from the station's main television studio in Leipzig: 20 Micron UHD modules In a standard configuration they will be responsible for signal routing and six will serve as multivisores using the app Micron UHD MultiViewer.
Micron UHDs allow MDR teams to easily configure the system for meet your exact needs, whether he video signal routing or the provision of multiviewer capabilities. To undertake the management and configuration of these and other functions, MDR trust the system hi (human interface) of Broadcast Solutions.
Las interfaces Micron UHD of Riedel, which provide more bandwidth, further E/S, older resolutions and more processing power to the MediorNet platform than its predecessors, allow it to respond to the growing demand in the market for decentralized routing of its operations, as highlighted Marco Kraft, sales manager of Riedel in Germany: "From our point of view, the deployment at MDR provides a perfect example of how our Micron UHD can make a smooth transition. It has not only reduced system complexity and potential points of failure at the MDR studio in Leipzig, but has also increased operational efficiency and provided a solid foundation for future growth."
