Adapta Book Madrid will seek to generate synergies between the audiovisual and literary worlds

Adapta Book Madrid will celebrate its first edition from November 29 to December 1 in various cultural centers and spaces in the capital with the aim of facilitating professional connection around literary adaptations to different formats such as feature films, as well as fiction series and new digital content.

The event seeks to promote the city of Madrid as a reference in the development of literary adaptations that nourish audiovisual production and generate synergies for the business opportunity evaluation between professional agents linked to literary, audiovisual and cinematographic creation.

The event aims to bring together people who work in the literary world and those who are part of the film and audiovisual industry and facilitates the participation of literary works to find audiovisual professionals who can help develop the adaptation, and in turn, from this same sector, search for the ideal work to launch a new film and/or audiovisual project.

The program of activities includes conferences, screenings, exhibitions of case studies, creation laboratories with citizen involvement, among other actions for the promotion and dissemination of the talent of creators and will host the day Pitch the book, exclusive presentation of up to 15 literary works before producers and entities in the audiovisual sector in the search for their possible adaptation to film, television and platforms.

The call for participation in Pitch the book It is aimed at authors residing in Madrid, under 35 years of age, with literary works (presented on their own or through their publisher) that reflect a potential to be adapted to film, television in film or series format to present their projects for this day, which will be carried out in pitch format before producers and other audiovisual professionals, with whom they will then hold individual meetings that will be previously scheduled by the organization. Adapta Book Madrid is an initiative of Culture Social Innovation, with financing from the Madrid City Council and the collaboration of Adapta Market and Nautilus Gesció Cultural I Comunicació, whose main purpose is to facilitate professional connection in relation to literary adaptations to different formats such as feature films, as well as fiction series and new digital content.
