Matriz will address the synergies between the audiovisual industry and festivals in an open day in Madrid
The project “Madrid with Film Festivals: projecting a common future” developed by Headquarters, the Madrid film festival network, returns with a day that will take place on October 10 at the Cineteca.
The day, open to both professionals and the general public and the press, through professional meetings, proposes to reflect with all agents in the sector on the new challenges and the role of film festivals within the value chain of the audiovisual industry. Some topics that will be addressed will be financing, audience acquisition, programming limits, identity or positioning. To talk about all this, there will be the participation of Pepa Octavio, head of the Citizen Art program at the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation; Celia Fumanal, from The Film Agency, and Paz Lázaro, programmer at the Berlinale. Free registration for this event is now open. Matrix website, organized by Matriz, with the support of the General Coordination of the Mayor's Office and the Culture area of the Madrid City Council, as well as the collaboration of Madrid Film Office, Matadero de Madrid, Cineteca and DIMAD.
Likewise, in order to explore the role of film festivals and incorporate the views of all industry agents, a second mesa in which professionals such as Enrique Costa (ADICINE) and Gloria Bretones (PRÓXIMA) will participate, who will analyze the relationship with the distributors. Mario Madueño (Pantalla Partida) and Maria del Puy Alvarado (Malvalanda) will contribute their point of view as producers and, finally, the experience of the exhibitors will be incorporated through two associations represented by Ramiro Ledo (PROMIO) and Luis Gil (FECE).
After the professional talks, the organization will offer a lunch networking to continue sharing points of view. In the afternoon, in the Matadero Workshop space, the team Tejeredes liderado por Cristian Figueroa, promotor de una cultura de cooperación y trabajo en red en las comunidades, llevará a cabo mesas de trabajo conjunto con todos los actores del sector con el objetivo de delinear un posible enfoque para un proyecto común destinado a los festivales de cine de Madrid.
En paralelo, el público cinéfilo podrá disfrutar en Cineteca de dos sesiones de cine programadas por Matriz que buscan reflejan la diversidad de los festivales de cine de Madrid y constituyen un ejemplo del mejor cine independiente más actual.
