Spanish Screenings 360. The Podcast

Spanish Screenings XXL, the initiative for the internationalization of Spanish audiovisuals, launches Spanish Screenings 360. The Podcast, a new dissemination tool to make the Spanish audiovisual ecosystem known to the industry and the general public.

In the first episode, which will be published on November 17, director, producer and screenwriter Chema García Ibarra (Espíritu Sagrada), producer María del Puy Alvarado Landa (Malvalanda) and distributor and producer Gloria Bretones (Begin Again Films and Centuria Films) will discuss internationalization strategies, formulas to carry it out and the challenges faced by the Spanish audiovisual industry, as well as its situation in terms of equality and sustainability. Hebe Tabachnik, producer and programmer of Ibero-American audiovisuals, moderates the conversation at the festivals in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Sundance and the American Cinemathèque of Los Angeles, among other institutions.

In each episode, on a monthly basis and with an international vocation, agents from the different links in the industry's value chain will be given a voice, moderated by relevant professionals in the sector. Each participant shares their own personal opinions on the central theme of each episode, and in each conversation there is also room for anecdotes and film-loving recommendations.

In future installments, cross-cutting issues of the Spanish Screenings XXL project will be addressed, such as equality or diversity.

Delivery on equality offers the vision of Carla Sospedra, independent producer and executive producer of Alcarràs who is part of the Board of Directors of Dones Visuals; Alba Sotorra, director (The Return: Life After ISIS) and producer at Alba Sotorra Cinema Productions; and Carlos Loureda, film critic and programmer member of AICE and Académie des lumières.

A dialogue on the path towards equality in the Spanish audiovisual industry in which the participating professionals address issues such as parity, what feminism contributes to an industry like the audiovisual industry, how gender affects the relationships established in a team and/or in the sector, discrimination in terms of project budgets in the hands of women, among other current topics.
