Designed as an international platform for the promotion of Spanish cinema, the objective of this market is to promote international sales of Spanish cinema and to make known, to the specialized international press, the new releases that will soon be released in their countries of origin.

Organized by FAPAE (Federation of Associations of Spanish Audiovisual Producers) Madrid de Cine-Spanish Films Screenings will celebrate its sixth edition from June 19 to 21 at the Cines Princesa complex and the Meliá Princesa Hotel in Madrid.

In this VI edition, 75 companies from 29 countries and 150 Spanish producers and sales agents will attend. 45 Spanish titles will be screened at the Princesa Cinemas and more than 100 in the Video Library located at the Meliá Princesa Hotel. 26 international journalists from the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, USA, Canada and correspondents from Central America and Latin America will participate in the Junket and will interview the teams of the 21 films.

Fernando Trueba will sponsor this edition of Madrid de Cine and will participate in different activities within the market. Among others, on Monday, June 20, he will appear at the now usual Working Breakfast with the national and international press, together with Pedro Pérez (President of FAPAE) and Gonzalo Salazar Simpson (President of AEC), to present unpublished data on the presence of Spanish cinema outside our borders as well as to make a summary of the current Spanish cinematographic panorama.

The international press will be able to continue viewing the films through the Veospain.com portal created and developed by EGEDA and Filmotech, which aims to promote, thanks to new technologies and the Internet, the dissemination of Spanish productions within the professional market. This action is part of a new initiative that EGEDA and Filmotech carry out in collaboration with the ICAA, the ICEX and FAPAE, with the aim of VEOSPAIN becoming a platform for the dissemination of new productions for professionals in the foreign market.

In this edition, the Madrid de Cine organization joins with the “Spanish Version” program to organize, on the 20th, “The Spanish Cinema Festival” in the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens. In this framework, the 2011 FAPAE Prize will be awarded to the best Spanish film with an international career, which is made through a direct vote of the FAPAE member Associations. The purpose of this award is to recognize and disseminate the work that producers carry out internationally.
