The exhibition, organized by ICAA and EGEDA, will include six premieres in its program and will be attended by directors Javier Fesser, Ramón Salazar and Gustavo Salmerón.

24ª Spanish CinemaChampions, the film directed by Javier Fesser and selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to represent Spain at the Oscars in the category of best foreign-language film, will open the Spanish film exhibition Recent Spanish Cinema en Los Ángeles el 11 de octubre en el Teatro Egipcio en Hollywood Boulevard.

La muestra incluirá en su programa seis estrenos en la meca del cine y contará con la asistencia de los directores Javier Fesser, Ramón Salazar y Gustavo Salmerón, entre otros.

Organizada por el Instituto Español de Cinematografía y Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA), la American Cinematheque y EGEDA, Recent Spanish Cinema ha mostrado durante más de dos décadas el cine español más reciente al público de Los Ángeles.

El programa incluye el drama de Ramón Salazar, La Enfermedad del Domingo protagonizado por Bárbara Lennie y Susi Sánchez; el conmovedor drama big, by Jon Garaño and Aitor Arregi and winner of 10 Goya Awards, including Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best New Actor (Eneko Sagardoy) ​​and the Platinum Award for Cinema and Education in Values; box office success Many Children, A Monkey and A Castle, by Gustavo Salmerón, which won the award for Best Documentary at the Goya Awards and at this year's Platino Ibero-American Cinema Awards; Fernando Colomo's comedy so acclaimed by the audience, The Tribe starring Carmen Machi and Paco León, as well as the musical The Call, by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo that mixes Catholicism and reggaeton by accompanying two teenage aspiring singers on a mandatory religious retreat and finally, Carmen y Lola, the film debut by Arantxa Echevarría, which follows the blossoming romance of two gypsies in Madrid.

The exhibition will also feature screenings and special events that will include a reception at the Egyptian Theater on the opening night, a round table with the actors and directors invited to the film exhibition, and the screening of a selection of short films that will include Madre, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, winner of the Goya and Forqué Awards for Best Short Film and a special screening of Tadeo Jones 2: The Secret of King Midas for children studying Spanish, which is carried out in coordination with the resource center of the Spanish Education Attaché in Los Angeles.
